I have worked in the entertainment industry for over 20 years and have accumulated a wealth of knowledge. When I started out, I didn't have much information and spent countless weeks, months and even years learning the ropes by trial and error. I know how valuable information and resources are to people who are starting out from scratch. So I recently decided to use some of my spare time to create a blog with casting notices, audition information, information on getting an agent, demo-reels, resumes, etc. There are far too many scam artists out there who take advantage of those actors who are trying to make their dreams come true. The information and casting notices I provide are totally free and legitimate. Hopefully I can save some people a few bucks and a lot of footwork.
(I have also created a sister-site Hannah Montana Auditions, and a general Acting Auditions site)
Sincerely,
Alan Baltes

the major modeling industry isnt just in new york. there's L.A., and Chicago as well, and most of the major modeling agencies have offices in different states. if you want to be a model submit some snapshots and measurements to the agencies that you would like to work with or attend some open calls. as for acting, you can audition for plays at local theatres, or get SOME legitimate work off of Craigslist, but if tv and film is what you're looking for than you will need to get an agent to get alot of auditions

You don't just go out and find a professional acting or modeling job. You need expreience and training first. You get experience in amateur plays, at school, church and in the community. You need training to be a model and it is expensive and does not guarentee you a job. You need professional acting classes as well. For more information, read my profile and write me at my aol address.
