Democrats are always complaining about how the government handles the Iraq war and foreign policy and often times domestic policy, so why would they think a Government Healthcare System would work well? Why would you decide to give an institution which you claim has too much power, more power, in an effort to try to instill an element taken from Communism? If you think everything they do is wrong, or done the wrong way, why would you think they'd do a good job of this? It just doesn't make any sense. P

Sorry, that P is just an accidental extra letter.

Oh sorry, silly me. I didn't see things as the Republican Government and the Democratic government. I just thought of it as the America government.

So, Democrats think they'll do better because what? They've been doing better this past year so far?

Mstrywmn and Lina, you two make all Democrats, most of whom are actually reasonable (though I happen to disagree with them on certain issues) look like a bunch of idiots. You don't see a difference between giving protection from murderers and allowing people to visit the doctor every year because they feel like it?

It is strange to me to hear that the Democrats are currently expand the powers of government and spending--historically speaking for the past 27 years it has been the Republicans under Reagan and Bush (43) have done historic spending, expanding and growth the government to interfere in most peoples personal lives.

As a Liberal, I would say Government is not the savior of the people, I do believe in self determination, however, it can be used to protect us from those who wants to harm us here at home.

Why is it we can spend billions of dollars destroying other countries, but we as a people do not have the same desire to spend that kind of money to save peoples lives here in America?

It was how the Republicans do everything wrong. This includes;
Vetoing health care for children so rich people can get a tax break.
Telling lies to America to get us in to a quagmire in Iraq.
Doing nothing in Afghanistan when the terrorists started up the heroin trade again to finance their terrorism.
Taking a record surplus and turn it in to a record deficit.
Turning their back flood victims because they were poor and black.
Burning a CIA operative for the sake of politics.
Violating the Fourth amendment with warranties wire taps.
Kidnapping a citizen of an NATO country that turned out to be a solid citizen and in no way a terrorist.

All these things are done by the bungling stupidity of the Republican party. They have no one to blame but them selves. Democrats believe in making government work. This will not happen until Republicans are voted out of the white house and out of any power in both houses of congress.

I have been in the medical profession for 22 yrs. Preventive medicine (eg: seeing your doctor at least once a year) has saved more lives than you can imagine. Deceases that are diagnosed early on, before symptoms are displayed, are more treatable & curable than waiting until a person feels they 'need' to see a doctor, when it may be too far advanced. It is also much more cost effective. *You* are the complete idiot for not understanding that.

No, i'm no longer comfortable with it. do no longer stop at age fifty 5. each and every mothers and dads are components to society. If we gained't tale care of them of their previous age, we are pathetic. we ought to constantly no longer seem at people based purely on what they could make a contribution interior the destiny, yet what they have contributed interior the previous. Obama has been in workplace for a splash better than six months and we are speaking approximately letting our mom and dad and grandparents die for loss of medical care. this could be a factor of what the 2nd modification is all approximately.

Wait a minute. The republicans (and rightly so) think the government does everything wrong. And have the proof to back it up. The democrats think the government is the answer to everything. They often seem to be a solution desperately seeking a problem. And that solution always involves stealing my money.

Who says we want a government health care system? We want a National Health care System that gives choices & is available & affordable to everyone without discrimination or exclusions for pre-existing conditions. Please read & inform yourself.

P.S. the next time there is a fire, don't call the fire dept. If there's trouble, don't call the police & when you retire, give back your social security & medicare checks, don't take public transportation or send your kids to public schools because I'd hate for you to feel that you are condoning communism.

And your claim regarding the Democratic point of view is supported by what evidence.

The Democrats think the government does everything right as long as they're in charge. The minute the Republicans get into the driver's seat, then they call for "bipartisanship." As soon as the "bipartisanship" idea fails, then they start saying the government does everything wrong.

By the way, don't pay attention to the answerer above me. The only source you need to cite is the Democrats themselves.

To correct you a bit, Democrats think government does everything wrong when Republicans are running it. They think a government-run health care system would work because they'd be running it.

See, as a libertarian/Republican, I have no such quandary. I KNOW government does pretty much everything wrong.
