I am a professor in Daytona Beach, FL. The best advice that I can give you is to attend school regularly (miss less than 10% of the time) and do your work. That is actually harder than it sounds as many high schools are impersonal and chaotic, but simply showing up and doing your work to the best of your ability will get you a long way. The greatest problem with undergraduate courses is that students don't show up like they should, thus, many fail for non-attendance and missing the work. The same thing is true with high school...

If you don't know what you want to be, or what to do with your life, see your guidance counselor/academic advisor. These people help students with career advisement-- not just personal problems as the former name implies. Also, community colleges will often have a career counseling center that you might be able to access for free. Both your high school and local community college should have a variety of tests and programs which will assess your abilities and learning styles, and give you good ideas about what to do as a career.

I think that you should just get a book from the library that has all different careers in it and make a note of the ones that interest you. Also start to think about what your best subjects are, so you could maybe major in one of them in college and find a career that way.
As for tips to get good grades:
1) study, study, study
2) don't wait until the night before the test to study. start studying at least a week ahead of time.
take challenging courses. try to take honors and advanced level courses to better prepare you for college.

There are some free online career aptitude tests, see:

Once you get an idea what you want to do, I think you will become more motivated to do well in school.

In determining what type of job you might like, think about the type of lifestyle you want. Do you want a huge home with expensive cars? Would you be satisfied with a modest home? You need a career that matches your desired lifestyle (in relation to how much $$ you would make).

Yes there a few faculties wherein you'll take the ones forms of categories, however they're as a rule the neighborhood tuition ones. four 12 months school ones require a style, potentially cash to use, and essays. I had taken a cake adorning magnificence as soon as at a neighborhood tuition. And sure, I did meet my partner at tuition. It used to be our freshman 12 months at Michigan State University.
