This is a serious question. In light of the news story of the child born through invitro after his Dad was killed in Iraq two years ago (the Dad has his sperm frozen)...I thought of this. What if a man dies unexpectantly and the couple were trying to get pregnant. How long does sperm live after a man dies? Curious is all. Please understand that this is pure curiosity. I am WAY and I mean WAY past having kids and physically can't.
Please only answer if you know an actual answer and not some smart mouth response.

If it is stored correctly, theoretically, forever.

If you were to harvest from the testes after the man is dead? A few hours at most, maybe much less. Once the body cools enough, the sperm will die.
