No really, he is.

He was in love with Grindelwald. What do you guys think of this? This surprised me, seeing that he had to battle him and defeat him at one point in time

To *- GinnY -*: Read the article, and do some Googling as well. JK Rowling definitely meant "in love" and "gay"

Are you people insane?
What do you mean she didn't mean it in "a bad way?!"
Of course it's not in "a bad way." How would this "ruin" anything?
He's gay. He's not a death-eater.
These answers are really showing surprising bigotry.
Edit: Bunch of Slytherins

Excluding homosexuals from mainstream literature helps to emphasize the point that homosexuality should not be talked about, instead swept under the rug as something considered shameful and odd. From what I have observed, in general people have a very stereotypical view of what a gay person is like, and that is why most will be completely surprised by the fact that Dumbledore is gay. I think it's great that he's gay and I'm glad J.K. Rowling announced it. It should make people think. Also, Dumbledore's defeat of Grindelwald is made all the more sad by his being in love with him. Love is difficult, whether you're gay or straight.
P.S. I am straight so don't think I am being biased in my answer!

I know! I heard it but I am not sure if it is a reliable source. I am not talking about HPANA but about the website that got the interview. I don't see Dumbledore being gay! He can't be! I mean in the first 6 books Dumbledore was my hero. In the 7th they ruined that for me and then he turns out to be gay. JKR needs to explain why did she change her mind so radically.

"The Life and Lies of Albus Dumbledore"
by Rita Skeeter (AKA J.K. Rowling)
Who else would take a great, noble and beloved man and throw him to the wolves to further their own agenda.
She can speak all the lies she likes, but it won't change my opinion of this extraordinary man.
