I am going to my first middle school dance, and I have no idea what to wear! I'm going with my friends, and I don't have a date (NO COMMENTS!). It's not really a date-dance its just people randomly showing up and dancing with random people (lol) or at least thats what I think it is. I actually have no idea but all I know is that it is a casual halloween dance and we do not wear our costomes. I have no idea what to wear, though! I can't deide between a red blouse from Kohl's (sorry I can't find the link) with jeans and red ballet flats, or a polka-dotted dress with black tights or leggings and black ballet flats. But the dress has thin straps, and this is weird, but I have no idea what bra to wear with it. Please help! Thank you so much!

P.S. No rude or mean comments. Thanks!

Where the polka-dot. Get a strapless braw.. and get a tank with thinker straps and wear it under. Spice it up. Make it into something different. Make sure the tank isnt loose tho. and only the straps show. Get a headband or a belt and mix it up! You'll be fine. Oh, and have fun =) thats all that matters!

Most middle school dances are casual. I suggest jeans you love, a cute shirt that you haven't worn to school, (maybe a bit fancier) and shoes you love. The ballet flats sound cute. But keep in mind, that I'm a 27 year old teacher now, so things may have changed a bit.
But I believe the casual thing still applies. Guys don't like to dress up, so they'll all be wearing whatever they wore to school that day, so you don't want to be too dressed up.

Hey there
Oh boy have we all been where you are before! I'm 24 but I remember the uncertainty of trying to figure out what to wear. It sounds like you'd be on the right track with either outfit, I find a good guide is to wear something just a little dressier or more flirty than you would normally wear to school..you don't want to go too dressy (when I was in your shoes..7th grade (around 1995) a girl showed up in a poufy 80's prom dress! LOL seriously...so sad..she was mortified. But you also don't want to go frumpy (I was once guilty of going to a tenth grade dance in those button sided rip off track pants...before I grew a sense of style LOL!). If you decide to go with the dress, just keep in mind you'll be dancing and you'll feel less self conscious if the girls aren't bouncing too much (unless your smaller chested...then your golden). If your large breasted like me, skip the strapless bra and just go with one that either matches the straps of the dress or head to Walmart and grab a pair of clear bra straps and swap them with the regular ones for the night. I hope this helps you! Good luck and have fun!

I'd go with the dress. It sounds really cute!! I'd maybe even wear the red ballet flats with it to add some color. As for a bra, if you are small chested or even big chested and feel comfortable, feel free to not wear one, assuming it looks okay. Otherwise, try a strapless one. Or one with removable straps and add on the clear plastic ones. That would probably be what I would do.

You should stick to somethiny casual like the red blouse with jeans. At my school we have the same sort of dance where you dance with many random people. But no one wears skirts/dresses or anything fancy. We just wear normal school clothes.

I think both outfits sound cute and you could wear a strapless with the dress that has thin straps but they don't give much support so I'd go with the red clouse with jeans and the red ballet flats.

HAVE FUN AT THE DANCE!!!

just ask your friends! i generally wear a tank and jeans or something with leggings at my high school's dances. in fact, i'm going to one of those this week. i'm not sure if your school is more formal though... since you mentioned a dress and a blouse for a casual dance. anywayz, my advice would be to ask someone that you trust, like if you know anyone maybe a year or two older than you, or if one of your friends has been to a dance before.

have fun!

For a middle school dance, I'd skip the dress. Go for something casual. I remember when I was in middle school, my mother forced me to wear skirts to all of the dances and I felt awkward and uncomfortable. Everyone else was dressed a lot more casually. I'd go with a cute top and jeans. Have fun!!!

The red shirt with the red shoes would be good, but if you are dancing, you might want to wear a dress. But I would still go with the other option of the shirt. As for the other question... I'm not sure but how about you don't wear one, just that time?

i remember my 1st dance and it is soooooo much fun and u dont have 2 have a date and u dance w/ any1 u want and they wont think u have feelings 4 them. if u want 2 look cool, wear the dress wit leggings and flats and the dress has 2 be at least 5" above ur knee and make sure that that the leggings dont go pass ur mid shin. if u dont match any of these requirements, wear jeans and a tank wit a sweater coat and ur BLACK flats and wear watevr bra is is the same color as ur straps of ur dress or go wit the plastic straps or strapless!!! gooood luck grlfrnd
