Helps cut down the greenhouse imishions. helps keep you calmer as not looking for a park and not having to drive in the big amount of traffic so you do your self and the enviroment a favour.

In some cases its cheaper. You dont have to pay for gas, dont have to worry about parking, thats a big plus. You also take one vehicle off the road so it cuts down on pollution i suppose (not by much but it makes a difference). No insurance to bug you, no car repairs, maitinance checks, snow tires, car washes, regular tires... No giving rides to people you'd rather not sit alone with in a car! No mess in a vehicle to clean up, you dont have to worry if you spill something.
No getting stuck behind buses...

Cars are expensive to keep safe, they cost a lot in repairs, insurance, gas, license plates, tags, etc.
Public transportation in the form of city bus service is so inexpensive. Taxi-cabs are far to expensive. Go with the city bus. I gave up driving to save money.

No wear and tear on your own personal vehicle..no gas (higher prices) to worry about...usually on time all the time (no traffic jams or accidents often)

Meeting new people, definitely cheaper in comparison to paying to fill up your car with gas, and better for the environment.
