False -- it's rarely a good defense.

It really only applies if both knowledge and specific intent are required for the crime -- since a mistake of fact would negate those -- but if the crime is general intent (or less), it is no defense at all.

False. Not always, the mistake has to directly relate to the elements of the offense.
