I missed my period. I haven't been sexually active in 4 months. I went off the pill 2 months ago, could that have something to do with it? Also, when do you count 28 days?..starting from the first day of your period or starting at the last day of you period? The first day of my last period was on September 20th.

Going off the pill can certainly change your cycle.
How regular were you before you went on the pill? I was off it briefly and during that time I was just as irregular as I was as a teen.

You count from the first day of your period. If your last period started Sept 20, its only been 29 days so you have not missed your period, may just be a few days late.

It can take 3 to 4 months for your cycle to stabilize after going off the pill. Not every one has a 28 day cycle, from about 21 days to 45 days is within normal.

You count from the first day of your last period.

Getting off the pill is likely the culprit. The pill is an artificial cycle. Some women may be very regular 28-dayers when they are off the pill, some 20 days, some 4 months, some may not get it regularly.

I usually look at the first day of the period. Many times people skip periods after going off the pill. Don't worry about it. It's one day late now. Many people don't have their periods exactly 28 days apart. It may start in a few days.
