Has beauty made your life easier?
Due to circumstances beyond my control I doubt that my looks would have changed my life when I was young but now when I am older, maybe my life would be easier if I was pretty.
Tell me what it is like to be beautiful.

Beauty definitely makes your life easier. But like all things--moderation. Too much makes many things harder as well. Yes if you are beautiful, people enjoy talking to you, you are more likely to make more in your job and get promoted. You get faster service when you go out. I've never sat at a dance wishing someone would ask me to dance. If I walk to the dance floor, the guy will just come up to me. I've never sat around on a Fri or Sat wishing I had a date--I always had my weekend booked by Tues.
However gorgeous makes your life much harder. One of my friends is gorgeous and she can never get service anywhere. Men are afraid to talk to her and women think she is a witch. They glare at her and instantly hate her.
Luckily she...well she's a stereotypical dumb blonde, but it drives me crazy! The only guys that will talk to her are superficial and arrogant. They interrupt her frequently saying the meanest things--well they seem like it to me--like telling her not to talk b/c shes too pretty to worry about that. And that she's far too attractive to work. She doesn't think its cruel but I'm shocked that men assume that b/c shes gorgeous she must have the ultimate goal of being a trophy wife.
The assumption is just instantly made that since she is gorgeous, she never wants kids, just interested in money and would never date someone less attractive than she is. Just think--you'd have to hear the same pick up line every single time you go out. And it's always something like "do you model?"
Yeah everything my friend wears is instantly the "it" thing to be wearing this season, but she is also judged every day on what she wears. If she wore hand me downs, or was sick and didn't do any make up, everyone is judging her as worthless.
I also think that b/c gorgeous people have their whole self-worth built on their looks, that its much harder when they get older. Less than average looking people have built their worth on more b/c they've always had lesser looks. But gorgeous people wake up one day, 40, and there is a 20 yr old replacement--who is younger, perkier, prettier and just better.
I actually think looks matter far more when you are younger than when you are older. Being older, you have something to stand on. Your resume speaks for itself--so they are interviewing you based on qualifications. Men are older (and therefore usually more mature). Most older men couldn't stand dating the ditzy blonde with measurements like barbie. They've dated that already and they realize all the problems with it. You have friends that know you for you. They aren't just trying to be around you to get stuff--get in the club, get the hot guys, get free entrance to events. You have friends that are your friends b/c they love your personality, your sense of humor, and think you are fun to be around.
Of course--if you said being "attractive" vs being "unattractive" I think its a completely different argument. Always better to be attractive at any age. =)

As long as YOU, the beautiful woman, is a "genuine" person, then you have it made. It's the "inner beauty" that stands out on a human being. If a person is "intelligent," "sweet" and "kind" toward others, then that beauty lasts for ever. This is the encompassing loveliness that only God has endowed. Remember this, What shall we then say to these things? If GOD be for us, WHO can be against us? - Romans 8:31. The Lord daily loadeth us with BENEFITS, even the God of our salvation. Selah. - Psalm 68:19. I wish you well. Peace, Love and God Bless.

I am not a lady, but let me say that good looks and beauty are not the same. Beauty is from within. There are many shallow people that are pleasing to the eye. The most beautiful people in the world are only beautiful because they accept what they have been blessed with and are happy with it. Mother Theresa was beautiful but not necessarily good looking. others are the same way.

Its annoying. I don't enjoy going shopping by myself and getting stared at.
It also sucks not knowing if you did good on a job interview or if the interviewer was just smiling a lot and thinking other stuff.
You loose a lot of guy friends, because once they ask to be more than friends and you object they don't seem to want to talk to you anymore.
I've been offered lots of things but I refuse. However I'm sure if I were a gold-digger it would be very beneficial.
I agree with Bob, I'd rather be cute.
