PS: I am fully aware of how to take care of my crested geckos. I currently have to very healthy ones breeding! I JUST bought these two from a local breeder and he said they were hatched in april which didnt sound right to me. However I didnt know if anyone had had this same situation before. I am watching them closely and they are GREAT eaters. I just dont think that I was told the true hatch date (thinking maybe it was the lay date)

As for the second answer, I know what you are talking about! There is no way that a crested gecko weighs 78g after 5 months if it does you have major issues. And also, the temperature is supposed to be in the 70s not higher than 80.

What? Adult cresties of about a year old should be 30 or more grams! Are you SURE!! I would take them to the vet. How long are they? (wow, 78 grams!)

PS, don't listen to the TERRIBLE advice from Kimbee about underground heaters and different temperature areas, that is good for bearded dragons but NOT CRESTIES UNLESS YOU WANT TO KILL THEM! Cresties need room temperature and will be badly burned with those heaters under their feet, and will die if they get temps above 80 degree -- I hope that person has leopard geckos, geez what terrible advice! I breed crested geckos and mine thrive. I hate when people give such cruddy dangerous advice!!

PS, as an example and proof that Kimbee is clueless, click on her link, it is about leopard geckos! I hope she doesn't have a crestie, or it won't live long!

PS, visit www.reptilerooms.com or www.geckosunlimited.com and go to the crested room, where you can ask some supurb breeders about your cresties.

No. They should be much larger by now. At 5 months old my male was 78 grams! What is your setup like? Quick checks:

1. NO loose sand or other loose substrate--causes impactions.
2. Under tank heat pad with thermostat or dimmer switch so temp on bottom is 88F-91F.
3. 3 hides--hide on cool side, hide on warm side, and a moist hide on warm side to assist with shedding.
4. Crickets dusted with calcium powder and multi-vitamins as directed. Crickets need to be smaller than the space between the eyes and they must be properly gutloaded.
5. Water bowl.
6. Calcium dish.
