Acting has been something that I always wanted to do but I was wondering if 23 yrs old would be a little old to start off. I'm an 18 yrs old senior in highschool right now but I want to go to college so I have a degree to back me up in case I don't make it big in this Acting business(although I hope I do) I will be pursuing acting classes and oppurtunities before I graduate from college and move to LA when that time come. But I just wanted to know if any famous Actor started off at 23?

im in college AND pursuing acting right now. thats what topher grace did too, and when he landed that 70's show he made the decision to put school on hold. theres no reason why you cant do the same unless you're planning on having a heavy work load at school. as for actors who started off at twenty three, i cant think of any, but brad pitt started at 21, and he went to college first.

OH OH RED FLAG! If you are seriously considereing having a back up occupation if acting does not work our, guess what? You will never become an actor. What you need to do is break into the acting biz where you are and get some work on your resume before going to LA> Some well known actors didn't start until they were 5O. While, your intentions are wise, Hollywood is all about youth, beauty and talent. If, you are driven to try acting out, I would suggest going for it first and then go to school later. You can get your degree anytime in life and you will appreciate your education more as you age. So, I would say go for the acting now and then go back to school later.
