I kinda got a soft spot for alt rock and hardcore/punk, like the likes of The Pixies and Minor Threat.
I'm just tired of the same old stuff.
I already got ramones and sex pistols and misfits, so don't say those, I'm kinda in between the punk and metal scene, I don't know what's out there and worth MUST getting.
Give me music that makes you think, cry, and laugh and head-bang.
I need it before I go mad.

It's you that will be listening to the music and although I wouldn't condone willingly listening to punk or metal, I offer this advice: When you think you've run out of music to listen to, which is impossible, just look for the influences of the bands you like, and those influenced by them. That should be a good start if you want the same type of music, but if you're looking for music to make you think, try mozart, brahams, bach; music without lyrics or english lyrics is the best for that

linkin park is NOT punk theyre kinda alt rock on some songs technically theyre the inventors of nu metal but they'll make you think maybe cry(doubt it) and definately headbang
