Day after day Yankees fans would post here about Torre's bad decisions--usually about pitching--and how he was costing the team wins. Now he's finally had enough abuse and everybody who posts is ready to make him a saint. Are these two separate groups of fans, or is this typical bandwagon fan behavior--bashing Torre when it was cool and now singing his praises because it's fashionable? So many Yankee fans act like spoiled brats that I suspect the latter.

I'm not convinced Torre is a baseball genius, but I think very few managers could survive the Yankee meat grinder like he did, and management was stupid to push him out. I wouldn't be surprised if the next 10 managers crack up under the pressure.

I'm not really sad, but i think hes a real classy guy. I wouldn't count your chickens yet. I tthink there may be a slight chance he could come back still. Maybe management will come to their senses and give him a contract he deserves. I don't know what they expected from him the last few years with the pitching staff they gave him.

If they had the courage to do it they would have fired him. Now that it is done they should move on and hire a new manager and get their team set for spring training. The more time the media keeps crying over something that is done is just hurting the team. Time to move on.
