Have you found any truth to it?

Also in regards--what's the point of having any regrets, because when we're ready to learn, the "teacher" will appear.

Think of it this way. Perhaps, the teacher (this doesn't have to be a person, the teacher could simply be experience itself) has been there all along. Maybe something was preventing you from being able to learn, stubborness, wanting to do it your way, or you found the truth to painful to face, or simple distraction with all the hubbubb of life, this list could go on....

But, when you are ready to learn, the teacher suddenly "appears" and you start to notice things that were there all along but only now you get the meaning of.

To paraphrase what the others have said, it's not about something that wasn't there suddenly appearing, it's about becoming receptive to what is already there.

On a humorous note "When the student is not ready, the pop quiz will appear."

The teacher, whatever or whomever it may be is always there, but a mind unwilling or ready to embrace it can't see it. The epiphany comes when the students mind is open for whatever reason to receive the lesson. Then the teacher, who was always there, appears.

Oh definitely. Whenever I'm encountering a problem, some kind of dissonance in my life, a book, a news item, a talk show discussion comes up that will help me.

Why do you think that most pre-schools and kindergartens do ' readiness' testing? To see if a child is ' ready' to learn and is open to learning.

I am beginnint to think that they should institute readiness testing for junior high school, high school, college and university before allowing students in. It's not all about academics either, it 's about your attitude towards learning and new ideas as well as your academic marks.

It has been true, in my experience.
I've had a number of teachers over the years. It's amazing how people come into your life at strange times, serve unusual purposes.
I heard from an old bf right out of nowhere. Within a few weeks, my dear friend died. My old bf was there for me, with poetry, inspirational sayings, and emotional support, all thanks to the computer. Now he's dealing with aging parents, and I've been able to give him some assistance.
We live many miles away, and may never meet again in this lifetime. But he will be there for me, and I for him, through the trials of life.

I think it's logical. You can only learn if you're willing to, therefore when you are ready to learn, the teacher will appear. But then again-maybe not. Because people are constantly learning and that doesn't necessarily mean that they are ready. From the moment we wake up, we are aware of our thought-we can think therefore we learn.

When we have the thirst water becomes available because depending on the degree of thirst we do not reject the vessel or the bringer.
It is all in the degree of the quest.
We see what we do not see when we are desperate.

I sure do think there is truth to it, and I think it's one of those phrases that speaks volumes in just a few words. Brilliant thinking, and very very true.

I agree. I am the teacher. Are you ready?

I have to "want" it and the willingness to accept truth.
