I want my table to have a border but NOT the cells. How can I do this?

That should do only the outside borders.

Of course these days, why use tables.. use divs and css much better much more control!

I think the border attribute applies to the border around the table, and cellspacing and cellpadding apply to the individual cells.

highlight the whole table and then right click inside it, format, borders and then put lines where you want them or just click on the border button.. either way

is it word or excel?
if it is word, highlight all and then go to and then click format at the toolbar and then select borders and shading.
