I am having a party on the weekend of oct. 27. I want at least 40 people to show, but it will be over 1,000 dollars for the cost of my party. I feel terrible for asking my parents to have the party in the first place, and I'm really trying to cut down on money and even find a way to rent out somewhere other than the Holiday Inn. I'm not being bratty either. I live in west chester PA and I cant think of anywhere to rent out thats not 500 dollars. I am super stressed, upset, and crying a lot because of this. Please, PLEASE help me! My parents are getting mad all the time about it which doesn't help at all.

Problem is about post-poning it- people are spreading all this buzz about the party and how awesomish it will be ( I didn't even say anything I just handed out invites) and I will look like a fool if I go to the 22 people I handed invites out to and say "Sorry its cancelled!". Hellppp meeee....!!!!!!

Why must you have this party? Can't you do it some other time? Like when you actually have the money?

What's the occasion for the party? If you're still living at home, I would think your parents would be footing the bill, and it would be at their discretion how much to spend. They agreed to giving the party for you, so it's up to them to determine where to have it and what they can afford. You may have to cut down on your guest list, and consider having the party at some place other than the Holiday Inn. Isn't there a club house or church basement you could rent for a lot less than $500? There are other expenses you could eliminate, such as scaling down on decorations and food. The idea of a party is to celebrate and get together with friends and just have fun. And it's not always necessary to have all the fancy trimmings when you entertain. Learning to do with less builds character, and is much easier on the budget. Good luck!

ok. 40 ppl do not need a big space. just have it in ur backyard and put up a zillion rockin decorations. or if u have a super small backyard im sure u have good friends that have reasonable sized yards that could lend to you for a night. i do not see any reason that a 40 person party should cost $1000 unless ur rich. just be reasonable. or if u rlly rlly have to have it at a rented place just get somewhere cheaper or offer to pay for half the party or sumthing. good lcuk and have agreat party :-)

Rent a hall at a VFW OR ELKS type place $200-300 dollars to rent and they will accommodate 40 people and then some.

Looks like you will need to cut things down more even if you do not want to, or come up with the money your self.

Sorry best alternative I can think of.............

Maybe you should postpone the party for a while.
