Do you smirk when you compare your score to others?

Do you feel you have a certain electronically prowess when "top contributor" is displayed below your "hidden" identity?

Do you really feel qualified to answer medical questions? Are you ignorant enough to ask medical questions and expect and true medical diagnosis?

I'm curious.

And Leeland, I looked at your best answer ratio....you have nothing to feel guilty about.

Sometimes it is nice to know you are good at something. You may be awkward in your personal life, but in cyber land you can be yourself and nobody minds.
Or you end up with some cyber friends, or you can actually be good at giving advise. Most of the medical questions people recommend that the person asking the question go and see a Doctor anyway because they don't feel qualified.
I am trying hard to get a "top contributor" banner, but not getting very far, lol. I think I have too many violation notices, lamo.
Most people asking a medical question are just after some reassurance that it would be a good idea to see a Doctor, or if anyone else has the same problem. It isn't harmful as long as the asker knows this isn't a medical website. Which luckily (most) do.

Low self esteem and a lack of real accomplishments or limited availability to succeed in other areas of life. Then there are more serious issues with ones self identity that make them feel a need to be 'superior' to others.

Now for your sub-questions.

No, I don't compare my score to others.

No, I don't have top contributor status or a hidden identity/profile people can actually see my Q's and A's.

Not really but there are a few areas I might feel competent enough to answer a medical question but not without mentioning I am not a doctor nor can I or anyone else diagnose you over the internet. No, if I ask a medical question I expect to get some insight from a qualified person if such a person answers but not an actual diagnosis.

In my case, the score whether high or not is something that I have achieved and every two points, or ten points, means that perhaps I have been able to give an answer that has helped someone in some way. there are many categories I would never venture to answer questions in since I know nothing, or care nothing in the case of sports, about that category.
as far as medical questions, many are asking questions in hopes of getting a different answer from what a doctor has told them when the answer is bad, or an answer from someone who has had the same test, the same operation, or perhaps the same diagnosis as they have.
Sometimes there are things in the world that doctors may not know about that a person my hear of on here if they ask questions. Perhaps the best example would be the fact that I have yet really heard anyone recommend DMAE to improve concentration and memory, and certainly never heard of any doctor recommending that, but tests done by LEF.org years ago proved that it works and does improve memory and concentration, I have used it myself and found that to be true and so has anyone I recommended it to, so when a question comes up where it would be a good answer, or part of an answer, I mention that, and it is something tht they may never hear about otherwise.
This is only my answer to your questions though and as there are thousands of people asking and answering questions here, there probably are that many different answers to your questions.

I don't care about points. I like to have good answers for people so they can feel good.

I gave a statement once the to newspaper about birthdays and they did not put my number in the paper and some lady called me and said that I sound like her son so she just wanted to wish me a happy birthday I said thank you so much you made my day wonderful I never knew who she was or ever heard from her again what she shared with me to this day makes me feel good just to think of it.

So the bottom line: I will share what know and try to pass on the goodness that the lady gave me . The others can show there feathers all they want too it is the people out there that need what i have to say that I am working for not the points.

OH I am the answer guy and under no circumstance will I ever ask a question

Some people answer questions to answer questions, state an opinion, or some other misguided motive. Answers is not an SAT exam where score is everything. Medical questions probably should be asked in a different forum than Answers.

I basically gained yet another one in the present day, and it sounds stupid, even though it hurts and that i'm getting mad. i desire to look at contacts and perhaps erase some, who, i don't be attentive to, and it probable isn't a sprint. i desire to stop Y/A. Then after calming down and determining that that's the two my fault through fact of rules and rules I in some way inadvertently broke, then Que Sara, Sara, despite would be,would be, Que Sara.

I don't think it necessarily has anything to do with ego. YA is the major source of entertainment for many people. Some have just been on so long that they've accumulated high scores. I think you're making an invalid assumption about people with high scores.

You kind of answered your own question.
They feel better because htey have a high score.

That doesn't mean all people think they're better because they have a high score.

Do you feel inferior to people who have "top contributor" titles?

I've never thought about it.
