Sorry, Bain WHO killed Batman...?

Batman was never killed. Bane broke his back and sent him paralyzed. He had to spend quite some time in a wheelchair. Batman was then temporarily replaced by Jean-Paul Valley (Azrael).

Here is the splash page showing Bane breaking Batman's back - Perhaps the only time Batman has died in continuity was during the Electric City arc. The Electrocutioner stopped Batman's heart for about 2 minutes until Robin could save him.
