Do you ever wonder how you were once able to go out drinking at 10:00 or 11:00 p.m., and close down the bars, when now you can barely keep your eyes open past 9:30 p.m.?

I still like to close down bars at 45, just don't like doing it during the weekdays because I need to work early and have to be somewhat responsible. If I didn't have to work, I would probably go out every night. I think the ones that shut down early are the ones in dull relationships or have family obligations.

No I don't wonder why that is, since I've always been a night owl and seldom go to sleep before 2 am.
But I DO wonder why I wasted so much of my life, my brain, and my precious time doing that back then. I look back on that and think how utterly stupid and a total waste of time, money, and resources that was.
Guess that's the wisdom that comes with age, though.

I turned 50 this year & can still close down the bars. Just not 2 nights in a row...

Ha ha... yes I remember going out on week nights as well as week-ends and having to go to work on maybe an hour shut eye. You know I functioned really well back then. Now if Im up past midnight I need 2 days to get over it LOL.... Ohhhh "those were the days"......

I'm 44 and I am still a night owl, staying up until twelve or one most nights, but I don't go out drinking all night. It's not a very fulfilling activity. And yeah, it is more tiring being out late than just staying home and being up late.

What makes you think us over 40's go to bed by 9.30pm?
I am 47. I can still stay up and have a good time till all hours of the morning. You might not be able to but I still ca.

I wonder that....alot!!! Of course, I get up at 5:30 in the morning now, not noon like I used to! Plus, I actually work and have a family to take care of. I'm a responsible adult now.......and sometimes it sucks! lol

We didn't only close the bars at 4AM, then we went to the after-hours clubs till around noon...
