Maybe this should be posted in the Russian section so you can get some true information. Only some one very young and naive would think Communism was a workable system.......

umm, i would have to disagree
and heres why

im sorry to assume, and if im wrong, i apologize,
but im assuming that your either in middle school
or beggining high school
the reason i think this way is that at that point
truthfully you are still being lied to in school.
they still give you the good side of things.

thats the only way i can see people thinking
communism is all good, school tells you
only the good "ideal" things about communism

now, the ideal communism is
that of a world or country that allows its citizens
to leave a compleately free, equal to everyone else
life.(not the dictionary definiton though)

on that way, things sound awsome, and we think
wait, why dont we live in that world?

but heres the thing, like i sad, its the ideal communism.
no where near real, and in no way possible at all, ever.

the reality is that countries have tried the communism thing
some still live under that government.

like someone already mentioned, what communism
in reality does is control people's lives, so that they live
a perfect peaceful life from the point of view of the
person making sure things dont go wrong.
if they do, and someone does something bad
its pretty much bye bye for them, or torture.

also, if you have seen the movie "pan's labyrinth"
theres an example of communism in there.
if you havent, its this. theres this part where the evil
military guy has all the nation's food (literarily) and
has everyone line up infront of his house with baskets
and their tickets. then he has his people check everyone's
ticket and tell them over and over that that food will
have to last them for about a month i think it was,
and exactly how much they would get.

thats not a nice idea, but thats how communism works
to make sure everyone is equal they give equal
amounts of food to everyone no matter what.

thats of course the rough sketch of things,
and theres more, but it would take too long to mention
all of it.

some people have mentioned other parts of it too
i think, so just put it together and that pretty much
it.

main idea, communism even though it started with
someone's good hope for the world to make it better
for every one, didnt work out. and its not ever going to.
i guess you can call it "too good to be true"

Yes it would be a great and wonderful world if "true" Communism were the worlds united political system.
Of course, Stalin Mao, Hitler, North Korea, Cuba... have never been truly communist.
Please to all the ignorant, sadly and disgustingly unsophisticated peasants look the word Communism up.
Community.. a shared common wealth where in no one has greater or lesser than exactly what they need... and all are equal in this system.
All forms of Communism thus far have been thinly veiled plutocracies and or Theocracies .. that only enforced dogmatic and false communistic doctrine on it's poor/
Really not all that different from a fake democracy that exploits the bottom 98%...

oh and PS...Communism and Socialism are not the same thing you freaking Idiots!

it will be if we don't get our act together, altering our system so it works for everybody and not just those who worship wealth and gadgets....we have fallen into a system of hyper-individualism and disintegrating community, and we are paying the price in an increasing gap of rich and poor, suicides, divorces, a house of cards economy based on unsustainable growth.

well if it were we wouldn't have to worry about yahoo answers. It would be regulated and censored if it even existed at all and we would all have very lovely things to say about the govt........because every time you bashed the leader they will come into your govt manufactured home that you don't own, on land you don't own, and take the computer that you bought that you paid half's a month wage for and stood in line for 9 hours to get.

How about asking the millions of souls who perished under communism in the Soviet Union and China if they think it was cool.

Define Communism

In truth, yes
In reality, no

So no. Not for a LONG time. Democracy is the best for right now. If we push social evolution too fast, then we get places like the USSR and China. The newer governments aren't as corrupt. So far it's almost straight math. And according to this math, we could be communist in, say, a few centuries. But history can change. So it's unrealistic to formally speculate now.

Not so much.
Economies are one of those things that just can't be centrally planned and controlled.
Granted that unrestrained capitalism is a walk back to the days of wage-slaves and robber barons, but the US has been pretty successful in forcing capitalists and corporations into law abiding citizens...although a bit too unchained and uninspected at the present time...we are due for the Democrats to reform them back into order.
