The second one is not correct. It is the root of all different kinds of evil, but evil came about well before money was invented. Believe the first one.

None.
Greed is the root of all evil. Money happens to make to the top of the list. Even if the world stops using money, there will be a replacement and evil will still be there.

2. Money may in our day and time be extremely important but our lives should be based on happiness although many peopl think that they found it in money. You really can only be happy with love. Money is not "the" root of all evil but it does cause a lot of evil. Many poeple are so gready that they have a total disregard for anyone but but themselves and alot of times will betray there family and friends to make a quick buck. THey go hand in hand though. Its a downward spiral. You need the money to survive but you feel bad about hurting your loved ones. You want to show love but you usually need money to do it. You have to take a stand in order to make a change in our world. I am not saying donate a bunch of money but try to good for people without money or material possesions. Do good deeds and maybe you can make a difference.
Remember money can't buy U love or happiness.

Lets start by getting it right. Supposedly, the love of money is the root of all evil. That is quite possibly so. When people see material things as the proof of their own worth or the sign of their achievements in life, they generally will seldom think they have a sufficient amount of it. Money is difficult to acquire honestly and shallow people will often take short cuts to get enough of it to start making themselves appear to be enjoying success and to have relevance. Such an unhealthy attitude can not only make people engage in vulgar displays of material wealth, but will errode their sensitivity to others. We could go on endlessly about this, but the fact is, when money is your primary focus in life, your life is most likely cold, hard, short and lacking in what makes us civilized.

I believe in the first statement more than the second. Yes, money DOES make the world go round. I mean, we are doomed to starve and die and etcetera without money.
As for "Money is the root of all evil?"
It's not. Money brings good to people more often than not. It is the GREED for money that is the root of all evil.

Money is only the medium used to trade our goods and services. Money is not evil and I prefer it to carrying a hundred and eighty cows to a car dealer to buy a car. Actually I would have to buy a truck to carry 20 goats to the gas station for a fill up. Money does make the world go round.

Gosh, I would have to go with the root of all evil. Blue (the cat) says that the world moves by some sort of gravity thingy or something. He always meows over my head with all that garble about science and all. So I am going with the evil thing, since I do not have any money to worry about anyway.
