My mom just got busted for an illegal left turn in California. I have several questions:

1. Does anybody know how much the ticket will probably cost?
2. If she goes to traffic school does she then not have to pay the ticket?
3. Would her traffic school fees be more than or way less than the cost of the ticket?

Thanks!

1. The fine for a violation of California Vehicle Code section 22101, subdivision (d) will be approximately $146.
2. No, in fact if she does not pay the ticket, she cannot get credit for taking traffic school at all.
3. Traffic school fees will cost her an additional $25-$35, and depending on whether it is an online or in person class I have seen them as low as $20-$40.

P.S. You must be originally from out of state. I was born here, so when an Arizona Hearing Officer ordered me to take a $90 traffic class in lieu of a $210 ticket, I was mesmerized.

Read the ticket carefully. the fine should be on there.
Traffic school does not void the ticket.
in PA, you can go to school ONCE, and it removes 1 point from your record.
Cost of school??? I do not know the cost of the ticket, or the cost of school.

1. Maybe a couple hundred or so. Just a guess.

2. No, she'll still have to pay, but she won't get the points on her license.

3. More. However, it may help her avoid getting her insurance rates increased.
