There is no such thing as "Manny being Manny" it was disrespectful to the other pitcher according to acceptable baseball etiquette. There isn't a separate set of rules for Manny.

It's Manny being Manny. Every sport needs someone like Manny. Just some guy going out there for the love of the game. To have fun. Take advantage of every single second he gets in the bigs. Manny's not about the wins and losses. He's about having fun and thats what makes him Manny.

A bit of both!

10-15 years ago Manny would be getting nailed everytime at the plate for that type of thing! Personally I don't care, he helps the Sox win and I love the Sox.

The old saying is if you dont like the way he celecrates his HR's don't let him hit HR's! Especially those 450 foot smashes! Ask K-rod!

I don't think he is thinking about showing up the opposition. His glances towards his teammates afterwards speak volumes for his intentions! He loves being THE GUY and in this series MANNY has been THE MAN!

I think it's ridiculous when people do that after hitting a homerun and Manny's display seems to be the worst in my opinion. We already know you hit a bomb! Just run the damn bases and get on with it! I find it annoying and disrespectful. And he looked like an idiot in game 4 because his team was still behind and he was making it look like he just won the game or something.

I was at the game and I am a huge Indians fan. Here is my opinion...Manny was booed and jeered non-stop by his former fans who felt like he became a trader when he went to the Sox for the big bucks. He finally did something positive in the series and this was his chance to show up the booers. It was an in-your-face type action towards the Indians fans.

Did you see him last night? He hits the top of the fence and gets a single, and he is afraid to scab his knee by sliding so he was thrown out at home plate. He is a good hitter-I'll give him that-but he doesn't go the extra mile for anyone or anything.

Listen, you either understand who Manny is or you don't. he isn't being disrespectful. He is just Manny. I wish people would just leave him alone. He is a simple guy, who is great at hitting the ball. Yes, certainly he spends alot of time in Left field (pun intended) but he does not say or do the things he does to offend people.

Sure it is frustrating when he misses a chance to get to second because he doesn't run fast enough (although that ball he hit last night was a home run - good thing we didn't need it). But Manny is Manny. I happen to love the guy and he has done some amazing things in Boston. I would not change a thing about him.

Manny does not have an arrogant bone in his body.

As a diehard Yankee fan, you might think I say Manny's a show off out of prejudice. But Manny waits very long to score and when he scores, he makes a big deal out of it. I think he is an awesome player, but doesn't have much class.

I wouldn't consider it disrespectful, but yeah, he makes way too much of a show over it. It's not great, but that's just how Manny is.

Barry Bonds takes a pair of month and a a million/2 to run the bases after a house run. maximum pitchers do no longer look after it and experience it exhibits them up. there have been activities the place a glass could have words with the hitter. lower back interior the days of Bob Gibson etc, if a hitter did that, it became into especially plenty assured he became into getting some chin song his next time up. They weren't so rapid to droop adult males lower back then. relatively there is not any call given, it relatively falls below showboating or "Cadillacing"

"Manny Being Manny" IS disrespectful!

It's a term they came up with so they don't have to use words like idiot, moron, disgrace, lack of sportsmanship, lazy, jerk, a$$hole, etc.

Anyone who says he's just being Manny, is agreeing that he's a jerk and arrogant, because that's what the term means. It's a term they use to sugar coat things he does, and make them feel better about it.

Anyone who thinks "Manny being Manny" is a good thing, you're an idiot. Who the hell is he to get special treatment? Quit defending the guy, because it makes you look like morons as well.
