My account is under "Francis" but the check is made out to "Frank" (which I go by). Will there be a problem at the bank?

No, won't be a problem. If your name was Francis and your nickname was Joe or something, you might have to come up with some extra ID. But Francis/Frank shouldn't cause any problems.

if you deposit the check into your account it will be good (as long as the check is good), no matter the "nickname". if you try to cash the check at the issuers bank, and you don't know them (the tellers) you may have an issue. just make sure that when a check is issued to you that it is made out to what ever is on your i.d.

I go by Mary, Maryann, or just Flash and as long as I go to the bank branch where they know me from using the business account they don't have a problem...

CASHING a check would be a different matter but DEPOSITING the check should be a-ok.

Again, if you want to make double sure that there won't be "Issues" then go where they know you or would at least recognize your face.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Usually the bank will match cheque name against account holder. But this also depends on the bank. I had a case, whereby they just contact the cheque issuer, and confirm whether they really issued the cheque to u or not. And also depends on the value of cheque, if it is a big amount, they are more strict.

As those who know said, simply sign the check as it is written out and then sign it using your name as it is on the account. Make sure to have proper ID just in case there is a question.

Yes, it is possible. You will need to endorse the check the same way that it is written on the front. It will be easier if you got to your own bank too.

Im quite sure it will be a problem at the bank , seeing that your i.d. will be under your original name. The check should be made out to the same name as your i.d., it is for safety reasons and identity theft and all kinds of frauds. Have the check re-written to your name.

FIRST: endorse the check EXACTLY as it is made out; then under that, sign again exactly as the name is on the account. There is NO intended fraud here and no diversion of funds--the payment was intended to go to you.

Probably not if you are depositing it. If you explain, but only do so if they ask. Usually if you sign it, write deposit only on the back I suspect there won't be a problem.
