-30 = x -10 +11x
-20 = x+11x
-20 = 12x
-20/12 = x
-5/3 = x

Check
-30 = (-5/3) -10 + 11(-5/3)
-30 =(-5/3)-10 +-55/3
-30 =(-5/3)-(30/3)-(55/3)
-30 = (-5-30-55)/3
-30 = -90/3
-30 = -30 It checks!

lol british C is an idiot. -30=x-10+11x
-20=x+11x
-20=12x
-20/12 = -1 2/3

to check, you simply plug in -1 2/3 where ever there was the value x in the equation.
-30 = (-1 2/3)-10-18 1/3
-30 = -20 - 10
-30 = -30

Combine like terms (i.e., those with x and those without). The best procedure is to move the two types to opposite sides of the equal sign (by performing the same operation to both sides of the equation).
-30=x-10+11x
-30+10=x-10+11x+10 (add 10 to both sides)
simplify
-30+10=-20
-20=x+11x (note that -10+10=0)
The right-hand-side simplifies
-20=12x
Because you are looking for 'x' you have to get rid of that 12
-20/12 = 12x/12 (divide both sides by 12)
-20/12 = x
(-1*2*2*5)/(2*2*3)=x
remove the common factors of -20 and 12, x simplifies to
-5/3=x

Combine like terms to get
-30 = 12x -10
Add 10 to both sides to get
-20 = 12x
Divide both sides by 12 to get
-20/12 = x = -5/3

Check:

-30 = -5/3 -10 + 11 (-5/3)
-30 = -5/3 -10 -55/3
-30 = -60/3 - 10
-30 = -20 - 10
-30 = -30

-30 = 12x - 10
-20= 12x
-20/12 = x
-5/3 = x

-30 = -5/3 -10 +11(-5/3)
-30 = -5/3 - 10 -55/3
-30 = -60/3 - 10
-30 = -20 -10
-30 = -30

- 30 = 12x - 10
- 20 = 12 x
x = - 5 / 3
Check
(-5/3) - 10 - 55/3
= - 60/3 - 10
= - 20 - 10
= - 30

x= -20/12 OR -1.6 repeating.

It's simple to check your work - you just plug the answer in so it'd be -30=(-1.6)-10+11(-1.6) . If the same number is on both the sides, then your answer is correct.

gluck!

-30=x-10+11x
-30+10=x+11x-10+10
-20=12x
-20/12=12x/12
-5/3=x
x=-5/3

-5/3-10+11(-5/3)=-30
-5/3+-55/3-10=-30
-60/3-10=-30
-20-10=-30
-30=-30
