Apparently from what I've heard, there are a lot of single women these days who actually seek out married or involved men to date. Because they "just wanna have fun." No commitment. So they get with an already involved man. . . Real classy there ladies. Anyway! I've heard of another grwoing trend. Suing for "alienation of affection?" Basically wives sue their husband girlfriends for messing with their men and ruing their families. And the amounts some of these women win are HUGE!

What do you think of this ladies? I kind of think its a good thing. People are too damn bold and narcisistic these days. We need a wake up call!

Maybe this will wake people up. . . Probably won't though.

Thoughts?

that topic was discussed on oprah today.

personally i have no problem with it. mistresses just don't seem to get that they're messing up someone's life and taking away their happiness! and if children are involved, it just makes it worse. it's definitly possible that many of them don't know that the guy is married, but they usually find out sooner or later. yet they still choose to carry out the relationship, sometimes for years. but, the wives can't just blame the mistreses- what about the husbands? i guess it's just easier to blame someone that they don't know because maybe they just don't wanna think that they're husbands, who they exchanged vows with, could do something like that. i could go on, but basically, if i was in that situation, i would probably sue the mistress- especially if i had a family. and i'd probably divorce my husband too.

The women or man who seek out affection from someone already involved have a problem from the start. I would be afraid to have a relationship with a person already involved. That person is only thinking of their on selfish needs. And no amount of money in the world can make me feed into that twisted ego. And who want to lose anything over that reason.they break up families spread disease etc all over nothing.

I agree with Rio. If the Mistress is going to be held accountable, the man should too. He played as much a part in creating that mess as she did.

I don't really understand why anyone would feel they need to go after someone who already married just to be free of commitment. It seems with a little communication, it's pretty easy to find no strings attached arrangements. Ones that won't involve some strange woman angrily banging on your day in the middle of the night.

Number One:

I disagree with your premise that "there are a lot of single women these days who actually seek out married or involved men to date. Because they "just wanna have fun." because you have furnished no evidence that this is true. In fact, the reverse makes much more sense and is probably true: younger women are more interested in finding a father for their children: as a species we, like all other animals, are BIOLOGICALLY PROGRAMMED to want to reproduce. It is the men who are programmed - by evolutionary forces - to be more interested in getting their genetic material 'out there' (under the guise of just having 'fun'). Quantity of partners is more important than quality. In addition, nature has endowed men with a far larger 'window' of fertility; females obviously invest far more in their offspring than do males and have a shorter time frame in which to get the job done.

Number Two:
America is the most litigeous society in the world whose citizenry has adopted 'sue thy neighbour' as an additional Commandment. Nowhere else in the world would such frivolous, inane 'cases' be heard in court. It's just koo-koo.

I don't think it's a good idea. The mistress may have actively sought out a coupled man, but no one forced him to hook up with her. He should be held accountable, too.
