I am old now myself, but when I was young I loved to listen to my four grandparents talk about their life experiences. I learned a lot of good life lessons which still hold me in good stead. And, they have been gone a long time. I still like to listen to those who are older and wiser than me. In listening one gains much wisdom.

God bless you, my friend, for respecting your elders, you will end up learning much ! And you will bless those to whom you listen!!

Most assuredly. I come from a culture that values elders.

I was talking to a friend of mine here at the station about this yesterday, actually. He's 73 and has been in radio for two of my lifetimes total (I'm 25.) We were discussing how radio tends to be ego-driven, and I brought up how many of the people I know don't want to learn from those who have been in the business before them. It's the same with life--it seems as though those who have been around longer aren't valued as much, and it's backward.

Yes! I love them, in fact I am a Hospice volunteer, which gives me lots of interaction with them. I get so much out of it, they are an infinite pool of wisdom.
