I know were not that far into the season but as far as I know, he is leading not onle the Oilers in points, but rookies too. I say possible Calder winners are Cogliano, Kane, Toews and the Johnsons. Yes it is a bit early to judge but what are your thoughts.
PS: I know I am biased about the Oilers

Cogliano has a great chance, as does Gagner.
However, I think Toews is the favourite at this point. Kane seems to be getting a lot of media attention as well.
What will decide it between the Oiler pair and the Blackhawk pair will be consistency over the course of the year.
Backstrom of Washington will get into the mix as well, he has a lot of skill.
Looking at the rookie scoring leaders, the top 5 favourites are among the top 6 in scoring (Daniel Carcillo has infiltrated).
Kane and Toews are getting significantly more ice time than their competitors.
So yes, Cogliano has a genuine chance at the Calder if he continues at his present pace for the rest of the season

Toews I think has the better chance. He scored again tonight and is playing almost 4 minutes more per game then Cogliano.
