They run the regular season table and lose in the Rose Bowl. Appalachian State demands their share of the BCS money, which Michigan accounts for as a seminar expense. After Lloyd Carr is fired, Alabama offers to send Nick Saban and $20 million, but is refused. Carr is turned down for the head coaching job at Nebraska, and applies for Lou Holtz' job, basically mumbling incoherently at viewers while Mark May shakes his head. Carr is turned down, as having a personality is an ESPN job prerequisite, and at least Holtz has that. Les Miles decides to stay at LSU to defend his national championship, so Michigan hires Terry Bowden, thus simplifying the playbook by removing all references to the forward pass. At Bowden's first press conference, he states he looks forward to the challenge of keeping Michigan an elite team that can't win a bowl game.

Illinois will probably beat them, and they will beat Wisconsin. Ohio State will crush them, and they will win their (non-bcs) bowl game.

They lose at least 2 more games during the regular season, and end up in some crappy bowl against a second-tier SEC or Pac Ten team.

I think they will run the table and go to the Rose Bowl after their yucky start.
