the government wont legalize marijuana because of several factors. #1. they cant figure out how to package and tax it. #2. major businness won't allow them to. this includes the paint industry, the oil and gas companies, forest/paper industries,it was names like, dupont, hearst and others who pushed for it to be criminalized in the 1930's, and they fight against it to this very day. some-yan, hey dude, no need to get mean on here.if you couldnt understand the question, maybe its you who should have someone read it very slowly for you.

It is not so much a matter of morality as it is a matter of sound judgment. Legalizing compounds containing THC makes no sense to those educated in it's effects. Likewise, legislators and the voters that support them also (and wisely so) have not historically supported legalization of them. In summary, the government is certainly capable of legalizing such things and was wise enough not to.
There is absolutely no validity in comparing THC bearing drugs to alcohol. Where legal matters are concerned, each drug is considered on it's individual merits and demerits. This is why alcohol can be acceptable to some in society and other drugs will never be.
Based on how poorly written the question was, I can only assume that you will not understand this answer. Please ask someone who does not smoke dope to interpret this for you. Ask them to talk slowly.

A debate that goes back to the 1950's. The government thinks that pot leads to other drugs.

The Government could legalize it but the citizens' Representatives are not motivated to do it. In fact the Congress isn't motivated to do much at all but vote themselves pay raises and take time off to raise money for their election campaigns.

Laws are created by the Congress because they have political support.
If the people really wanted legalization then there would be popular support that would translate into votes for Congressional candidates who support it. Then the law would be passed.

The original drug laws are based on morals and racism. They make too much money on the war on drugs to legalize any of them
