I think it's $150 you think I should pay 150 to have some one put in a couple u-joints?

I think once those support bolts snap off I'm good to go. I have a breaker bar with 6 points I would twist those right off in 2 secs Right 8 retaining clips for u-joints are nothing major.

I beleive this bearing slides on right over the spines, maybe it is pressed on . I havn't got in there yet. I think it's the same set-up as a 409 or 1962 corrvette

I see . Thanks any more info would be great I'm good at the hard stuff , it's the easy stuff I have a hard time with. I'm curious to know how they seperate to get the bearing on. another Clip? would it be easier to pu 2 new u-joints I don't think that's my problem ..my support bearing cushion is toast. I can push the shaft up over 1" why would i need to remove the rear u-joint when I can just unscrew the 2 rear flange bolts ?

If you have never done this job before now is not a good time to be the first time. Let a experienced mechanic do the job.
