wot r you stupid? grunge didnt wreck song. Commercialism and a sparkling attitude that arived after grunge ruined song, i agree that almost each and every thing that has come alongside after grunge has been crap even though it wasn't grunge that brought about it. If u ask me its ordinarily commercialism and additionally the certainty that fees have risen depriving youngsters from with the flexibility to flow to the little gigs for unknowen artists, which was once the initiating for any form of song. i.e: manchester punk song scene.

grunge lyrics are usually about alienation, apathy, desire to breakaway/freedom, disillusionment with society....theres a sense of depression and/or angst in the delivery.....sometimes there are songs with a dark or morbid sence of humor & sarcasm.
pair lyrics like that with heavily disorted guitar and a fusion of hardcore punk and heavy metal music and you have grunge
