He sounds like he needs therapy. There is a psychological disorder that causes this and I think it's genetic if I remember correctly. I think it gets worse with age if not treated.

Right here, sista! My husband is the worst. He gets physically sick when I start to clean up... translation... clean out. I start putting s**t in boxes, and just label it Sam's stuff... then I throw it in the attic. He really does not miss half the things that I put away... Then, on weekends that he is at a ballgame or he goes hunting, I go up in the attic, and start throwing the stuff out... never misses it. But, yes... it is never ending. It's a sickness. Hates to part with anything. he gets it from his dad... he's the same way. I went over to the in-laws house one day and counted 12 phone books. None were expired... and couldn't tell me why they kept them... just did. When we got married, I started cleaning out a closet that I thought had alot of memorabilia. Pulled down the first box, empty... pulled down the 2nd box... empty... get the picture? A WHOLE CLOSET FULL OF EMPTY BOXES. I threw away 2 large black garbage bags full of empty boxes. I cleaned out his closet not too long ago, and threw out 2 trash bags full of clothes hangers... he just kept them over theyears and never got rid of them.
Good luck, because writing this is making me tired... night, night.

Make him watch Sanford&Son until he can't stand it. and start donating, yard sales, maybe you can get a kid in the nieghborhood to work for some of it and help you get rid of some of it. Tell him he can sell it for you and split the money with him. Make sure your husband is in on it, after all you mairried him.

just get rid of it when he is not home. that is what I do and once it is gone what is he going to do. call someone and donate it and they should come pick it up. if that does not work you will have to buy a slipcover for it and learn to live with it. just like the husband. good luck

Get a marriage counselor and tell him, and tell him (in front of the counselor) that you are considering a friendly separation (dont use the word divorce). Either the stuff goes away or YOU go away. He chooses.
