Whenever there is a vibration nearby or I touch my monitor, the screen will fold in on itself, or becomes scrunched in either the top or bottom half. It stays like this until I move the cables around behind it, and then it starts up again in a minute or so. Is this permanently fixable?

Hi. The LCD is connected to the main part of the laptop by flexible cables that run through the hinges. It sounds like the cable is only marginally seated. The fix is pretty simple (re-seat the cable) but you need to know how to access the cable. If you are not comfortable with attempting this yourself, have a computer repair shop do it. If the LCD is defective it may be time for a new one (or a replacement machine). If it is a desktop it could still be the cable or maybe the jack. Unplug and re-seat the cable at both ends. Check that the GPU is seated correctly.
