I need cogs and gears from clocks for a couple of art (steampunk) projects.

As a kid I used to disassemble clocks, to see how they worked and to have a cheap source of spinning tops.

The cogs and gears need to be fancy, maybe with cutout sections, just think old.

Now that I have a practical use for these items I am finding them difficult to obtain.

Lots of junk shops and salvage shops will have broken clocks you can buy just for parts. The fun is in the search.
