Only an hour. Our sermons could be half day events. They would start at 7pm and the only reason they would stop was because I had to be in bed by 10pm. If not for bedtime there's no telling how long we would be there.

My mother did. My dad was a man of very few words. His hand smelled like Old Spice and he wore a leather belt. His lectures lasted seconds. His lectures had a meaning.

After quite a couple of minutes of this, she have been given aggravated and threw the e book in my room and stated study it once you opt to. That replaced into it lol

yes, i got them all the time....by the time i was about 16 or so, though, i found myself in this strange little world while i was being lectured, where i could drift into my own thoughts, but i could still answer correctly when i was asked a question....dunno how i did it, but it was really nice, tune them out but still appear to be paying attention.

I remember them saying, "Son, you must make people answer THIS question for you:"

Actually, to answer your question: If being punched, beaten, slammed against the wall by my dad and being told to shut my goddamn mouth was a "sermon," then Yes!

Of course, that is what parents for, to preach, to sermon to guide, to enlighten, to enhance, to deliver good virtues and inculcate in their kids' minds...that is their major role..to raise good kids..however here we are, we resent these actions, we take them for granted, we ignore their presence, we backbite them, we criticized them....but the good news is...unless parents don't impose on illogical advice,or criticize destructively, and worst not accepting you for what you are......but you know what the best news is.......Our parents continuous advice serve us emergency kit when we are in big trouble...we remember them and we cling to them especially in worst situations...........thnx for supportive parents really.i salute their unconditional love and endless support.........

I would get one sermon during the day from Mom and then her standard, "Wait til your Father gets home.....grrr"!
Then, he would take me aside and say, "Why do you get your Mother all worried and upset? Take it bit easier."
ME? I was smiling....phew.
