FRONTLINE!! It is the #1 Veterinarian Recommended product because it works....I use it on my 2 dogs and 6 cats. Frontline is so effective because it spreads through the animals oil glands inabling the fleas to die when it gets on the animal. Other products only work if the flea bites the animal....and how convenient is that? In other words....Frontline kills fleas, flea eggs, and flea larvae. PS: Do not buy Hartz or any other off brand flea control....I have seen pets die from that product and have severe seizures! :-(
Frontline is costly but it definitely works! Don't waste your money trying other stuff!

I use Advantage and now they have come out with Advantage Multi which also contains heartworm preventative so all I have do is put it on once and month and no problems. I like it because it can't be washed off... though wait 24 hours after putting it on and the fleas don't have to bite the dog to be eliminated. I have also used Sentinel before which sterilizes fleas but it's not as effective in actually killing them. Hope this helps!

It really depends, some pets can be allergic to certain flea remedies so i suggest asking your vet or looking them up online to see if there are any side affects. Better safe than sorry!

Advantix Is good for fleas, it is waterproof , although you cannot bath your animal for 24 hours, but they can go out in the rain if need to. it is only good for fleas...NOT ticks.
Also i use frontline because it is good for ticks and fleas. also waterproof
they both last 1 month and are fairly inexpensive. 13.00 for fronline, 12.00 for Advantix. you can get them at your vet, just stop in and ask for it...no need for appointment.
They both work so much better than store bought ones.....your basically wasting your money if you buy a storebought remedy.

I put that flea killing powder all over my carpets, vaccumed, and while i was doing that, put my dog in the bathtub and scrubbed with flea medicine and gave him a full out- washing. do it at the same time and you should defeat them. And vaccum regularly.

Sevin Dust. It's cheap, works great and you can sprinkle in the carpets like Carpet Fresh. (It is a natural product made from dried up chrysanthemum flowers and sold in home and garden stores, KMart, Walmart, etc.) It is for dusting a vegetable garden.
