I'm a big fisherman myself. I like to go catfishing the most. When i go its at about 11:30 or so. I had a problem in finding my hooks at night so i found a gps at bass pro shops for $100. it is called a i finder go2. Its red and its waterproof.i dont even use a spotlight anymore because it gets me so close. then i set it to find home and it gives me my trail back to the house.boating is all i use it for and its perfect.

Just grab a hand-held GPS of eBay.com. I use a hand-held Garmin myself and it's great. I can put up on the boat when I need it, then I can take it off and use it when I go tramping.

The link just a popular store. I have found cheaper browsing. Type; "Marine GPS" without the quotes.

They have hand held gps units. One of them the arrow on the unit just points towards your destination.

Go to the nearest sporting goods or boating store and ask them. Dick's here has units that will take care of what you are asking for: http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/family/index.jsp?sr=1&origkw=GPS&categoryId=2274060&view=all
Or you can try Cabela's: http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/category/category.jsp?id=cat602025&cmCat=MainCatcat602025&navAction=jump&masterpathid=::cat602025&cm_re=store*left*cat602025

i use a garmin. ive tried many, but garmin has always been the best i found for reliability and features.
i got mine from a boat show. thats the best place. as often they are set up on display and you can playw ith them, and usually get a good show deal.
