Dogs do not carry toxoplasmosis, cats do.

Dogs are no threat at all. Toxoplasmosis is from fecal matter of cats that has been sitting for over 24 hours and only if that cat has been infected.
You shouldn't have anything to do with a kitty box and also be wearing gloves if you happen to be outside working in the garden since outdoor cats LOVE using the garden bed as a kitty box. Always wash your hands if you come in contact with dirt outside.

The way you get Toxoplasma is if you ingest the fecal matter of a cat who has eaten a rodent with toxoplasma. Oh yeah, and the fecal matter has to be a couple days old. Or you can also get it if the fecal matter comes in contact with an open wound and gets into your blood stream. I'm sure you come into contact with pet owners all the time, but I'm sure they wash their hands well and so should you.

It's more of a concern with cats- proper hygiene on your part should make it just fine. During my last pregnancy we had 4 dogs- and a litter of 9 pups that I almost exclusively cared for round the clock! i spent months 7-9 caring for the little buggers- it was just fine, my Ob wasn't worried about it as long as I followed usual techniques like wearing gloves to clean up after them and washing hands.

Cats have it, not dogs.
Plenty of people have dogs while they're pregnant and are just fine. My mom was.

You do not catch this from people. People catch this from cleaning the litter box and not washing their hands, then they touch their face, or mouth.
