I have watched some workouts on TV that make you improve your speed agility quickness stopping first step quickness and cutting ability for basketball and how to avoid injury . I am not very knowledgeable about workouts so i was wondering how long can you do those workouts until you can't get any better. or is there no limit. Now say you get your abilities to where you want them how can you keep them where they are where they can't decrease.

There's no limit to these workouts. You have to establish a base or starting point and work from there. Also establish goals so that you have a sense of accomplishment. That way you will know when your skills increase and if you have to change your workout to continue to increase your skills. You should also try to incoporate these with your basketball workout so that it doenst get mono tone. As far as keeping your abilities, once you reach your goals, you have to continue to workout to sharpen the skills you have and keep updating your workouts

There is no limit as to how long can you do those workouts. You can very well do them as long as your body is up to it. Kobe calls his workouts "blackout" coz he does them over and over and with such intensity up to the point of almost passing out. As to your second concern, there's such a thing called peaking. When you're at the peak of your talents, you go through some kind of a plateau, wherein no matter how hard your workout your talent and skills pretty much stay the same. Then in a few years, you experience a decline. Well, that can be explained by one word - aging.
