I really don't understand what's wrong with boy/girl parties, unless it's a sleepover.

once upon a time boy/girl parties use to be fun and safe. These days parties consists of alcohol and touching. Couples would be making out and bottles of beer on tables. But that doesn't mean all parties are like that. Are there going to be any parents at the party? Any supervision at all?
Are there going to be alcoholic drinks?
You know your friends best, what are their plans once at the party? Maybe you should already make plans such as games and activites so you guys will be busy so other "things" won't be done. Having a party is completely cool, with guys and girls. You just have to know your grounds

I would let my son have a party at that age if he wanted to have friends over, but I would ask one of the other parents to help out, maybe with driving kids home that don't have a ride, help with games, etc.

Should be fine... parents can stay upstairs and leave them to it unless it gets out of hand.
Rules should be making out in public areas not going off on won somewhere.
ie the hands stay out of the pants but making out is fine.
However I would leave condoms in the loos or hidy areas
This is being sensible... if somone is going to have sex they can do it anywhere.
My concerns would be making the house party resistant ie brakables gone.
No booze..., somone big to keep out gatecrashers who could cause trouble and some grownups giving space but they if needed

I don't think that there is a problem with it as long as there is enough chaperones to keep an eye on everyone.Sounds like fun.

Bring your parents along to help chaperon. The host/hostess' parents will probably appreciate the help.

I think its fine. As long as its not a sleepover or anything, and just in the backyard or wherever, there's nothing dangerous bound to happen.
