What do you think? You're Al Queda and you're trying to recruit a young man to be a suicide bomber. He understands the glory of martyrdom but he wonders if this is the right time. So you tell him that Bush is the devil. He is sceptical and asks for proof. So you take out your laptop and play him snippets of politicans saying that Bush takes amusement in the deaths of Americans. He must laugh at the deaths of muslims. Other politicians say that he is a terrorist and a murderer. Some compare him with Hitler and Pol Pot. If his own people feel this way who can argue with that. Bush is evil and it would be an honor to be a martyr.

That is how the scene ends thanks to diarrhea mouthed politicians.

Same technique used by the Japanese, Vietnamese, and Germans to a lesser degree.

ricfrees what stark said was that Bush finds amusement in the deaths of young American soldiers. Want to change your statement?

G before you give me a thumbs down, I have been in the world including the middle east, I'm studying psychology, and I have a degree in history.

What mindless drivel. The terrorist will use anything to recruit. Including the truth.

Not sure what the congressman said, but the war in Iraq is nothing but a oil turf war. If we wanted to attack someone over 9/11, we should be carpet-bombing Pakistan & Afganistan back into the stone age.

No -- terrorists don't pay that much attention to the details.

To them -- We are bad. Everything we do is bad. Out existence alone is enough to justify recruitment. Our involvement in their lives to any degree is a burden, which justifies even more recruitment.

The idea that anything we say could "embolden" the terrorist is just silly -- you are talking about a few thousand people, who want to wipe out 10% of the world's population, so that can convert the other 90%...

How can anything we say make them more bold than they already are?

Our enemies are more likely to use the actions of an administration that invades and occupies a sovereign nation based on lies. An example is that Al Quada was not in Iraq at the time of 9/11, but AFTER the US invaded Iraq, Al Quada of Mesopotamia that was formed. How do you explain that?

No. They use comments like "the uranium document was forged" and "the aluminum tubes could not be used to enrich uranium as claimed by Condi" and "There is no evidence linking Iraq to the attack on 9/11 as which contradicts Cheney's statements" and "The Powell photos of mobile chemical weapons labs were bogus". Why? Because all of these statements are true.

Bush is doing just fine recruiting terrorists on his own.

Is Bin Laden in Iraq?

how would that sales pitch go exactly?

"hey, wanna be a terrorist?... why not?... maybe this would change your mind:

Some U.S. congressman that you've never heard of said Bush's war was for his own amusement...."

yeah, that's one effective sales pitch...

gitmo, abu gahrib, and blackwater don't have anything on that... right?

do Republicans have ANY idea what is going on in the world and how people think... just general psychology... what motivates people?

"CNN is reporting that 88% of those voting in their Friday morning online poll say there is no reason Rep. Pete Stark (D-CA) should apologize for remarks blasting President Bush on the floor of the House of Representatives."

No, but they sure took advantage of that Monica Lewinsky trial to plan 911!
PS: Terrorists are opportunists, like parasites. They will take advantage of anything we give them. They hate us all equally and would just as gladly kill conservatives as liberals - don't forget that!
