A great man is...
You only go about uncreating him.
Your natural state is divine. But because of ego / mind you attach to concepts that are serving the illusion of survival. You judge evil in others and yourself, thus, because the mind is creative, you bring that evil into your world.
You are born great. Some just veil the greatness.

To become a great man, one does great things. Likewise, to become a great woman, one does great things.
Easier said than done, but true nonetheless.

Furthermore, what is your definition of greatness.
People should realize their own beauty and greatness within.

by allowing and helping that man to discover what is great within themselves. WE cannot create greatness within people.
If we seek to find it within people we can then help them to discover it as well, embrace it and develop it.
