Do you really believe it is true?
Would you believe it if your mother, father, sister, brother or wife said they were pagan? Would you really believe that your loved one was capable of something awful?

Is it so hard to see pagans as good human beings?

Ms Crone, Only the Bibleans hate us, the REAL Christians have NO animosity towards us at all and are loving and accepting of us. the Bibleans hate everyone, not just Pagans, they even hate the REAL Christians too. Anything that isn't in their little book is of Stan and Satan is the one thing that they can't abide. Telling them that Satan doesn't even exist in their little book does nothing but send them off into a tizzy, foaming at the mouth. You're NOT going to get through to them because their little book gives them the RIGHT to HATE, and that's good enough for them. the REAL christians KNOW that they do NOT have the right to hate and instead, must LOVE. The REAL Christians do a good job of that and it's time we recognized them for being REAL Christians and offer them OUR love in return. Do what the REAL Christians do and just laugh at the Bibleans and ignore them. They have NO power over us, anyway. The REAL Christians NEED our love and support, because there are so few of them yet, it's THEIR message that is the most powerful and most worthy of our respect and admiration.

I consider myself a pagan because it is the closest I can come to describing my beliefs. Some of these are: I believe in the power of nature to dictate how we should live...in paying homage to our primal instincts and natural behaviors...in the power of the woman over weather and harvests, and the duty of men to respect that power and never humiliate, degrade, or violate anything feminine much less her reproductive equipment. Also as the only daughter of an only daughter of an only daughter of an only daughter of a woman burned for her beliefs, and my daughter that was taken from this world at the age of six , I believe in ancestral spirit-energy that stays forever with the lineage it has produced.

There are many other things that I would include if I had time, but to answer your question, the worst thing I have ever been accused of is simply being "evil" which is , of course, the natural companion of "good" One does not exist without the other. To me it is more a question of hurting or helping those in need that should be addressed as a religious topic.

Thousands of years ago, Pagans believed in the Earth and held females on a high level because they give birth to new life. There was nothing 'evil' about thier beliefs way back when.
However, now people associate pagans with witchcraft and satanism. If you know someone who is into paganism, you should inquire about their beliefs BEFORE you make a judgement. It could be that they are practicing the 'old' version which is harmless but, if they are into satanism I would definately stay away from them.
Please look up Paganism or Ancient meaning of Pagans on the net or in a encylopedia. This might help you to understand the different meanings of the word today v/s years gone by.
Good luck

First of all, 'Pagans' covers a LOT of territory, so when I say that some of them are into human sacrifice, that does NOT reflect on the vast majority. But the stuff that went on at Bohemian Grove has been documented.

I am a Pagan (pre-gardnerian traditional witch) and it hurts when uninformed people call myself and my fellow Pagans "devil worshippers." I reply, "We don't need an entity of pure evil to scare us into doing the right thing." Also, "How can we worship something we don't even believe in?"

So I guess the worst thing that I have heard about us comes from ignorant misinformation and spread by intolerant, belligerent people.

We are good people. When has a Pagan:
-Killed in the name of their god/dess.
-Caused wars in the name of their god/dess.
-Knocked on peoples' doors to tell them their damned?

the worst thing that I personally have heard is that we don't exist, that our spiritual path is not valid like Christianity and Islam supposedly are. I know a lot of boneheads out there still think we are evil and worship their half assed devils and all that crap, but I have never been personally subjected to it. Just the extremely insulting offhanded dismissal of us as being actual and real pagans, as though paganism is today's passing fancy and we will outgrow it someday.

pisses me off!

the worst thing i have heard about pagans are people really do believe they are evil devil worshipers, pagan is a lost faith/religion what ever you decide it is but the new versions are neo- pagan...ect. I believe in the bible it says "judge not, and you shall not be judged".

If anyone was to research anything about a subject they do not know. You will always come up with such a misunderstanding of the topic. Why don't you just look up some information about it. What did the Pagans ever do to you? lol

Salam

The word Pagan is bad word to describe such folks. If they believe in something it doesn't mean they are going to put woolen pants on and run around like goats. Or do they . Lol`:)

The word "pagan" is functionally meaningless since it only applies in terms of its opposition to *early* christianity. Pagan was anything other than the prevailing dogma, not a belief system in itself.
