Is this really true in the end? I have a friend who says that no matter what, looks are what people base things on.

Maybe when your young it matters more because people are shallow at that stage. But we ALL get older, fatter, wrinklier. If you've got no brains or personality to compensate for your lack of youth you'll just be a boring, stupid old fart.

Remember...no matter how hot you think you are...someone else is always hotter. Be a good person inside and it will shine through in the end.

Looks obviously play into things, but they are NOT all that matters. Your friend is not only wrong, but he or she comes off as superficial in their statement.

Looks can play a part, sometimes a big part, but personality is another trait that really carries a lot of weight. I dated a truly lovely woman a while back, but after I got to know her, her ugly side came out of her heart. Now if I think of her, I no longer want anything from her. Looks play no part there

I think looks and personality both matter equally. I hate to say it but everyone always says, "Don't judge a book by it's cover!" Even the people who say that don't follow that statement. If looks are good, they have to have a personality that you enjoy. Why be with someone you don't enjoy?!

Looks are important but it is what is on the inside that counts. Many people judge others by the way they look, which I feel is so wrong. As the old saying goes, you cant't judge a book by it's cover.
