because enough of them realize the the bill that was vetoed did not strip funding from the program
it expanded funding to include families that made as much as 80000 per year
the schip program will continue as before for low income families
the best reason for not expanding it was so that people like me did not stop paying for insurance and go on the dole and so that companies with health plans that pay decent would not drop their insurance programs altogether

Actually it isn't all of Congress just a few Republicans who want to obstruct the will of the people. They don't care about the well being of our citizens. They don't care about poor and middle class families who are struggling and just need a little help. If it were some welfare program for Exxon Mobil or some other huge corporation they would be jumping at the chance to support the bill. Unfortunately the bill is only about helping working families so they won't lose their homes and everything else they own to keep their child alive. So the Republicans vote against it. The President, also a Republican, vetos it. But that is their agenda and to blazes with the will of the people.

They're not blocking -- the override vote failed.

Not enough Republicans were willing to go on the line and override the veto. So, the veto stands.

They all receive national health care. And they all earn $165,000 per year. In fact, their health care is the best in America & it doesn't cost them a dime. We can correct this! Vote them out of office. Every one of them.
