d.

Calculate the perimeter of the carousel on its edge. 2 * pi * r = 2*pi*(17) = 106.81 ft

Now you know that it made 106.81 ft for only 28 seconds. Divide 106.81/28 seconds to get the number of feet you can go per second.

Which gives you 3.81.

Circumference = 2πr

c = 2*3.1416*17

c = 106.81 ft

106.81ft / 28sec = 3.81 ft/sec

So d. is the correct answer.

complete revolution is 2Pi R

= 2(3.14)(17) = 106.76 ft

linear speed = 106.76/28 = 3.81 ft/s

answer is d

d is correct:
Circumference=pi*diameter

C=pi*2*17
C=106.814ft

v=C/t
v=106.814ft/28s
v=3.81ft/s
