I actually trust all the retired generals that say the whole opperation is being run in a retarded way... about every week you read about a new on in the papers...

I also trust the video footage and photos that is brought back from Iraq...

it just so happens that some of those people agree with the generals...

Definitely not the first set -- their history of... shall we just say, getting facts significantly wrong.... is just too consistent and too long to believe anything they say.

I don't trust most of the second set either -- and any legal analysis that says the US occupation is illegal simply hasn't studied the relevant laws.

I tend to get my information from listening to many different sources -- as many of them being independent of the govt and of each other as possible -- and by any rational accounting, any progress on Iraq is going so slowly that it will take years if not decades before Iraq is ready to function on its own -- and those are years and decades that we cannot afford to continue playing babysitter with no direct benefit to the US.

For every 4-star general who supports Bush's spin on the war there are 3 or 4 who know better. Your conservative selective perception is showing

Bush proclaimed "Major combat operations in Iraq have ended" on May 1, 2003. Dickless Cheney went so far as to claim the bloodbath would be a "cakewalk". Only the most feeble minded elements of society would be stupid enough to trust them.

So where do you come down?

Only our military and no politicians on both sides as they all have for sale signs on the USA.

It is time for a new party of true Conservatives that follow the Constitution.

4 star General Petraeus actually said the war was going poorly- 8 out of 18 benchmarks isn't good news, and 3 out of those 8 were only partial credit anyway. That was the only difference between his, and the GAO report- partial credit.

Yes, I'll believe him.

Nobody. I'm still kicking myself in the a$$ for the gross oversight of not learning Arabic or Kurdish.

form all of the things I've read and heard from people regarding this matter, I don't believe I would trust even myself to truly comprehend the status.
