I have a 14 foot designer tree trimmed in all that is gold and maroon. It has a oriental theme with oriental lanterns, glass geisha's, oriental tassels and gilded fan ornaments. 220 ornaments are on the tree. It is topped with a large gold glittered fan. All white lights are on the tree. It takes me 6 hours to put the thing up. I usually put it up the week after Thanksgiving and take it down the week after Christmas. It is stunning!

Our Christmas tree is a family tree. We put small framed pictures made into Christmas ornaments of all our family in the tree. We also have homemade family keepsake ornaments that we use every year. There are ornaments we use that my mother made when she was young, and that I made when I was but a child. The tradition continues, with the more children that are born into the family adding one or two of their own homemade/School art ornaments.

My Christmas tree is quite boring actually.
It's just a green plastic thing, i think it's about 6 foot, I'm not sure.
We have had the same one for years !
In December, we just decorate it with tinsel and baubles etc. . .
Every-time we get it out, we say "We'll get a new one for next year" but all these years later and we still haven't got round to it!
It's what's underneath it that counts ! lol

i generally do the same thing every year. i have done a red and white tree before for a few years. it was gorgeous but then i had kids. my mom started buying them ornaments and gave me all my ornaments from when i was a kid. so not only was my ornament supply growing, i had ornaments before the red & white theme. now i have a very large box full of them. i don't even use all of them (and i decorate a 10 ft tree).

we use pink from the martha stewart line....i had my first christmas in my own house the year my daughter was born so i bought about 500 dollars worth of pink ornaments and decided to keep them....
we have also used a candy theme since my daughter is 4 now...i took her to the store and let her pick out candy and toy themed ornaments and we used that last year with a candy garland.

I change mine every year and like a single colour but the children keep on putting their efforts on it and ruining the sophistication of it! I am a horrible mother and put their sticky messes at the back of the tree so that I can enjoy the fab one I put together. How rotten is that?

I either do Nightmare Before Christmas, or no tree at all. This year I will finally make peace with Christmas, I think I'll go with snowflakes and lights.

Last year we had a white tree with royal blue ornaments and white lights. The rest of the house decorations were centered around snowmen and snowy scenes.

I have about a 6 foot tree, green, decorated with white lights, silver beads, red bows, red balls, blue toronto maple leafs balls for my husband and a few ornaments I painted myself with mine and my husbands names and our pets. pretty simple, but I love it. my mom and dad have all our old ornaments from when I was little in boxes in the attic at their house. I cant wait to one day get them down and sort through them and see the old pinecones and plaster angles I painted when I was 4.
